Discover the unique histories of the community through vibrant digital artworks projected onto the historic old Council Chamber.  Leading Lights Lauren Karp, Sue Wegener, historian Liz Davis, artists, creatives and community members have collected local tales and stories, turning them into a magical visual and audio light show.  A larger collaborative work will tour state—wide around the coast line of South Australia in 2019.

Throughout 2018 Streaky Bay visual artist Lauren Karp has been participating in the state wide project Port to Port.

Port to Port is produced by illuminart and is working with port communities throughout South Australia to discover the unique histories of each community which are then developed into digital artworks to be projected onto local buildings.

Each artwork becomes part of the larger collaborative work which will tour the coast line of South Australia in 2019. The project works with local artists, historians and creatives to collect and research the tales of local storytellers, turning them into a light show on a local building, which means the skills and knowledge will stay in the town leaving a lasting cultural legacy.

Sue Wegener, one of illuminart’s leading lights based in Port Lincoln has been working with Lauren Karp on the project, teaching her and local creatives how to animate still images. Sue has created three works for the projection event which shine light into the local stories of sea travel, mis/adventure and resilience.
