The Eyre Peninsula Farmer & Fishermens Market is now known as ‘A TASTE OF EYRE PENINSULA’.

In 2017 the event will be hosted by Streaky Bay Tourism in partnership with the incorporated committee of the Eyre Peninsula Farmer & Fishermens Market.

Enjoy the markets festival atmosphere and experience culinary delights prepared by Eyre Peninsula producers.  The annual food and wine event will take place at the breathtakingly beautiful Streaky Bay foreshore lawns on Sunday 23 April from 10am to 5pm.

In Streaky Bay local producers take pride in joining with EP producers so that you can indulge in a great variety of tasty dishes prepared by local chefs and producers.

The event is the region’s premier food and wine event showcasing the vast range of product fresh from the sea and land to your plate.

Here’s just a sample from last year’s menu:

Get ready to indulge in tasty dishes prepared by local chefs and producers including fresh EP caught whiting & garfish, Streaky Bay stingray, Snapper Pie, Flake Tacos with Salsa, prawns, prawn & chorizo skewers, oysters and the River Farm Lamb Spit Baguette or Lamb Pearle Barley Salad.  Taste wines from local EP wineries and surprise cocktails from the wild.  Try Popes Honey & West Coast Pistachio Nut Waffle topped with honey comb & ice cream to enjoy with your choice of coffee and tea.  Also available for tasting and purchase is small goods, smoked tuna and baked items.

Don’t miss experiencing a taste of Eyre Peninsula – great food and wine complete with amazing views and live music with local muso “Bonkers”.

And something cultural perhaps with some hands on art?

In 2017 visitors to the Taste of Eyre Peninsula event can partake in a unique cardboard print making demonstration and lino printing workshop.

Following a one week residency Namibian artist Petrus Jero Amuthenu (Jero); Ceduna and Yalata Aboriginal artists eBay and Sheree Jones and ArtsUp community artists will deliver the community workshop for a $10 workshop fee.  You can get artistic to design and make your own printed creation ready to frame and display.

Entry to the event is FREE.
