Visitor Centre Opens on Saturdays

The Streaky Bay Visitor Centre is now open on Saturdays from 9:30am – 1pm until Saturday 29 April 2017.

The District Council of Streaky Bay will open  the Centre on Saturday mornings as part of a trial three-month period to encourage visitors and locals to utilise the extensive services available at the Centre.

Why not call in and talk with a friendly Community Information Officer and find out what’s on offer at the centre and receive great information to discover all the great attractions and experiences out in the region.

Council will review the trial opening initiative in May 2017 to gauge if the Centre can move to the next phase and open permanently on Saturdays or at other times on the weekend.

Jayne Holland, President, Streaky Bay Tourism says, “Streaky Bay ‘tourism has worked closely with Council in recent years to explore the opportunities for opening the VIC on weekends.  With  the foresight of Jess Davis, Community Development- Team Leader and her team the Council has decided the timing is now right to trial weekend opening times.  We fully support the initiative and hope it progresses to the next phase.”

  1. Hello I am Codi Moseby from Port Lincoln, and I am doing a task at school on ‘Murphys Haystacks’. I was wondering if you had any statistics or tables on it.
    Thankyou if you have any,
    Cheers Codi.

    1. Hello Codi,

I am not sure what you are after?

Do you just want the history and geology? If so that is on the website.

We don’t have access to visitor statistics as it is on private property.

However I can tell you that it is believed to be the 3rd most popular visited site on the EP.

      Kind Regards Jayne.
