Haslam is a small coastal hamlet and popular stop-off for those making their way east or west along the Flinders Highway to and from Ceduna.

Haslam was originally established in 1883 as a deep sea port and coastal shipping town. The town jetty was built in 1912 and now serves as a popular fishing jetty.

Boat access is available just to the east of the jetty and, typical of many west coast towns, the fishing can be excellent off the jetty or in a ‘tinny’ on the bay.

Oyster leases can be seen not far offshore, on the North Bank, and fresh oysters are available from the growers.

FACILITIES

A popular council campground, dump point, toilets, a shelter shed and BBQ.

New playground and outdoor exercise equipment are nearby.

HOW TO GET THERE

Haslam is situated 45kms northwest of Streaky Bay. Turn off the Flinders Highway toward the sea at the signpost.
